Dr. Karl Ulrich Volz
Founder President of the ISMI — International Society of Metal-Free Implantology, and founder of the dental clinics Bodensee Zahnklinik and Tagesklinik Konstanz. In 2001, he developed the first market-ready ceramic implant and was also the one who developed all of SDS Swiss Dental Solutions’ implant designs for a wide range of indications. He went on to become the dentist to install the most ceramic implants in the world. Thanks to this pioneering achievement, he is arguably the most experienced and well-known biological dentist in Europe, and has developed unique treatment methods and surgery concepts which only became possible through the concurrent use of biological and immunological enhancement and accompaniment protocols. His treatment successes, publications, and international talks have sparked a new trend in dentistry and led to the fact that a large percentage of his patients are themselves dentists, doctors, and non-medical practitioners. He currently leads the biological dentistry department in the SWISS BIOHEALTH CLINIC in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland.

Combining case presentations, lecture, and hands-on opportunities throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to discover the many surgical applications that are enhanced and perfected in utilizing our patented technology. Moreover, the attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions that will be answered by a clinician who has been successful utilizing Piezosurgery® in their own practice. This is a unique experience, as attendees from all experience levels can learn, grow, and enhance what they already know about the techniques and challenges solved with Piezosurgery®. All Essentials in Piezosurgery® courses are unlimited and complimentary for Piezosurgery® customers! Interested Doctors who do not currently own a Piezosurgery® device may attend for a nominal fee of $295. This fee may be utilized as a credit toward any Piezosurgery® device purchase made on-site at the course Six (6) hours of CE credit will be given.

Dr. Giles B. Horrocks DDS, MS
Dr. Horrocks is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, College of Dentistry. He completed his specialty training in Periodontology in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Horrocks received a Masters of Science degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Colorado and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has spoken nationally and internationally on Advanced Piezosurgery and Controlled Assisted Ridge Expansion (CARE). He has written a chapter on “Piezo-Assisted Ridge Expansion“ in a textbook on advanced piezosurgery and has a recent publication in the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry on the CARE approach to Ridge Expansion. He has just recently published a chapter on periodontal and peri-implant soft tissue surgery in the Wiley textbook Minimally Invasive Surgery for Dental Implants. He limits his practice to Periodontics with a focus on dental implant related surgery.

Jodi Deming, RDH
Jodi started practice as a dental hygienist in 1988. In the early 1990’s frustrated with the understanding of the etiology of periodontal disease became involved with biofilm research. At that time the term was rarely used in dentistry except in the context of dental unit waterlines. As a clinical research associate Jodi was involved with biofilm growth and therapeutic product development evaluating the effect on dental biofilms. Understanding biofilms, she developed a passion about non-surgical therapy, root morphology, and the results of thorough periodontal debridement. Jodi has worked 28 years mastering non-surgical periodontal therapy techniques and procedures. She currently works in both periodontic and prosthodontic practices. Jodi is a national and international educator, clinician, and lecturer. She has pre-sented over a 150 lectures and workshops on advanced integration of ultrasonic and hand instrumentation Jodi has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry, Department of Dental Hygiene and at Spear Education. She is a Friends of Hu-Friedy Thought Leader valued for her involvement with biofilm research, instrument development and training. She is nationally recognized as an expert in endoscope and ultrasonic instrumentation.

Building a sound knowledge-base will allow you to develop proper implant treatment planning sequences utilizing a digital workflow, understanding implant complications and mastery of periodontal implant maintenance techniques to increase precision, decrease morbidity, and improve esthetic outcomes.

Dean Ahmad, DDS
Dr. Dean N. Ahmad was born in Birmingham, England (UK) and was raised in Miami, Florida. He currently maintains a private practice specializing in the treatment of Periodontal Diseases, Periodontal Plastic Surgical Therapies, and Implant Dentistry in Northern California. Dr. Ahmad received both his graduate certificate in Periodontics and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan. He is a Board Certified, Diplomate, Periodontist from the American Board of Periodontology. He has also obtained Fellowship from both the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and from the Pierre Fauchard Honorary Academy. Throughout his training, he has completed internships in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from both Northwestern University and the University of Miami. He has also lectured both domestically (CDA Scientific Sessions/ SDDS…) and internationally. Dr. Ahmad has participated in multiple research projects and published numerous scientific articles. Dr. Ahmad has also attained Clinical Assistant Professorship in Periodontology and Orofacial Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Ahmad is the current president of the Western Society of Periodontology. He is also the past-president of Dental APPNA. Dr. Ahmad is considered an “Expert in the Field in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry” for the Dental Board of California. He is an Examiner in Intravenous Conscious Sedation for the Dental Board of California and is also on the Executive Advisory Board for Carrington College, School of Dental Hygiene. Dr. Ahmad and his team have played a major role in applying innovative medical and technological advances to current Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.
