Ceramic Implant Placement in the Aesthetic Zone: Do’s and Don’ts
Dr. Al Manesh, DMD

Course Description
As zirconia dental implants are becoming more prevalent, this presentation will review parameters for a successful outcome when zirconia implants are placed. “More clinicians have been placing implants in recent years. Zirconia implants present a viable option that show comparable osseo-integration with titanium implants. In addition these implants show high bio-compatibility with the periodontal tissue. This will result in better outcome when using zirconia implants to replace missing teeth.

Learning Objectives
•  In this presentation a few techniques will be shown to use one piece and two piece zirconia implants
•  Further more, some dos and don’ts will be discussed that will help in long term success and health of periodontal tissue around implants


Dr. Al Manesh, DMD
WSP Al ManeshIn 1993, Dr. Al Manesh received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree at Oregon Health Sciences University. After completing his general practice residency at Lutheran Medical Center, Dr. Manesh went on to graduate in 1998 from Louisiana State University’s Periodontal 2-year Postgraduate program with an additional year of implant studies.
In 2007, Dr. Manesh founded the Mission Dental Implant Center in Mission Viejo, California, where he specializes in regenerative periodontal care, dental implants, and oral plastic surgery. Not only does he have extensive experience in periodontics and implant surgery, he is also a published author, noted lecturer, and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association, the Orange County Dental Society, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the
Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Manesh is truly dedicated to providing quality periodontics and implant dentistry. He is constantly learning new techniques and
adding to his expertise. He believes it is critical for a surgeon to stay up to date with changes in technology, and he strives to provide the best standard of care for his patients in an environment with the most advanced resources. He founded the Ceramic Implant Institute in 2015 where he teaches professional training courses including how to place and restore holistic-friendly ceramic zirconia dental implants as well as implant-related periodontal and prosthodontic procedures.

Course Description
This presentation will overview the connection between prosthetic and periodontal aspects of implant therapy and how they dictate one another in today’s treatment. New digital technology & implant innovations will be showcased. By understanding how thoughtful surgical and prosthetic treatment planning utilizing new innovations in both fields, we can now predictably execute predictable therapy in every case.

Bobby Birdi, DMD, MS
WSP Dr Bobby BirdiDr. Birdi received his dental degree from the University of Saskatchewan and his post-graduate specialty
training in both periodontics and prosthodontics from the University of Minnesota. He is a Fellow and previous Examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of both the American Board of Periodontology and the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Birdi is one of the very few board-certified dual specialists in periodontics and prosthodontics in North America, and the first and only specialist in the world to attain board certification in these two specialties
in both the USA and Canada. Dr. Birdi is the co-founder of the Digital Dentistry Institute which is a global learning organization for his fellow dentists, and one of
the largest dental educational organizations in North America. He is also founder of the BC Perio Dental Health & Implant Centres in Vancouver which is one of the largest and most technologically advanced multi-specialty dental centers in Canada.



Raving Patients: Get Visible, Get Credible : Get More New Patients

Word of mouth has always been the foundation for the acquisition of new patients by a dental practice but in our internet age, word of mouth is transformed because of reviews sites like Google, Yelp, and Facebook. Online reviews are now one of the biggest ranking factors in a local search. Being credible is only one piece of the puzzle though. Your practice also needs to be found online when people are searching for a dentist near them. Are you at the top of the Google Map Pack? If not you are invisible and all of those great reviews are not doing you much good. In this seminar Dr. Tau shares numerous tips and best practices to not only become credible but visible online. He will also discuss the system that has been tried and tested in his own office enabling him to take his practice to the next level simply by marketing his reputation.

Long-term Prevention of Peri-Implant Complications: Ceramic and Titanium Implants

Course Description
To prevent peri-implant complications, professional in-office assessment, maintenance, and home-care recommendations are vital. For long-term implant success clinicians need to detect early signs of implant complications, diagnose any complications to provide early intervention and be able to perform professional in-office maintenance treatment. This course will follow the global healthy implant initiative for ceramic and titanium implants based on Susan’s Clinical White Paper: Long-term prevention of peri-implant complications and textbook: Peri-Implant Therapy for the Dental Hygienist: Clinical Guide to Maintenance and Disease Complications.

Learning Objectives
•  Learn the current research protocols, tools, treatments and complications for long-term prevention of peri-implant disease
•  Detect: Put into practice biofilm identification and a five-step protocol to assess and monitor dental implants.
•  Diagnose: Understand early intervention guidelines based on American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) peri-implant soft and hard deficiencies.
•  Treatment: Biofilm-focused titanium and ceramic implant maintenance for all forms of implant-borne restorations / prostheses
•  Provide safe home-care recommendations for titanium/ceramic implants patients
