2020 WSP Western Region Dental Hygiene Symposium
The Western Society of Periodontology (WSP) has a longstanding reputation as an organization dedicated to supporting the education and advancement of all dental team members—periodontists, restorative dentists, and dental hygienists. With the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes, the WSP has been the fastest growing Periodontal organization in America. In the last four years, throughout the West Coast, the WSP has sold out some of the most highly regarded dental hygiene meetings in the country.
Record numbers of periodontists, general dentists and dental hygienists have attended due to the quality of these team focused, clinically relevant programs. On the heels of this success, the WSP is joining with the Nevada Dental Hygienists’ Association to launch the First Annual Western Region Dental Hygiene Symposium in Scottsdale, AZ, September 4-6, 2020.
I am honored to serve as Chair of the Advisory Committee for this new symposium along with many well-known dental hygienists, such as Kathleen Hodges, RDH, MS; Susan Wingrove, RDH; and Tricia Osuna, RDH, BSDH, FAADH, among others. Our aim is to provide high-quality, evidence-based courses with an emphasis on practical implementation—an approach proven very popular among all clinicians, not just dental hygienists.
The event will include both periodontist speakers, including Thomas Kepic, DDS, MSD and Larry Ambrose, DDS and general dentists like William Taveletz and Arash Hakhamian as well as dental hygienist speakers, such as myself, Jodi Deming, RDH, MS; Michelle Strange, RDH, BHS, MSDH, Ms. Osuna; and Ms. Wingrove, to name just a few. Along with these lectures, we are excited to offer an abundance of hands-on workshops.
We are all united in our mission to improve the periodontal health of patients across the United States. Offering this type of engaging and rigorous education can make the difference in the quality of care provided by oral health professionals. As such, we’d love to partner with you to make the Annual Western Region Dental Hygiene Symposium a success.
We invite you to attend this inaugural event and help make history in the dental profession. I look forward to seeing you in Scottsdale.
