Continuing Education Courses


WSP conducts continuing education courses throughout the year. Call or email Deb Johnson at the WSP office, 562-493-4080 or (800) 367-8386 for additional information or download the program brochure (in PDF format) by clicking on the program title.

Registration fee includes continuing education credits, continental breakfast and lunch. Payment by check is preferred; however, Visa or MasterCard may be used for payment. The fee, less a $20 per person enrollment charge will be refunded if cancellation is made more than seven (7) days before the seminar. Cancellations within 7 days of a seminar are not eligible for a refund.

Diagnosis, Etiology and Treatment of Periodontal Disease
Gerald Drury, M.S., D.D.S.
Dr. Drury is the past chairman of the American Board of Periodontology; editor of the Journal of the Western Society of Periodontology; clinical professor and course director, Advanced Periodontology at USC; past-president of the California Society of Periodontists and current president of the Western Society of Periodontology. He practices in Hermosa Beach.

The Current State of Periodontal Therapy
Paulo Camargo, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Camargo is professor of periodontics at UCLA School of Dentistry and current associate dean of clinical dentl sciences. He lectures nationally and internationally on periodontal and bone regeneration issues and has published 70 scientific papers on periodontoal disease. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

The Periodontal Link to Systemic Diseases (Cardiovascular, Respiratory, etc.)
Joan Otomo-Corgel, D.D.S., M.P.H.
Dr. Otomo-Corgel is a clinical associate professor of periodontics at UCLA and practices periodontics in Los Angeles. She is a scientific author; national and international lecturer; past president of Western Society of Periodontology and secretary of the American Academy of Periodontology.

Maintaining Ideal Health Around Teeth and Dental Implants
Jin Kim, D.D.S., M.P.H., M.S.
Dr. Kim has board certification in periodontics and implant dentistry. He holds advance degrees in pathology and oral biology; practices implant dentistry in Diamond Bar and Garden Grove; lectures nationally and internationally and is immediate past president of the Western Society of Periodontology.


This lecture program is intended for hygienists, general dentists, dental assistants and periodontists. All dentists and the entire dental team are welcome.
